Mozilla has relied on their community to spread the word of Firefox since its launch in 2004. They have spread the word through a variety of initiatives incluing crop circles, newspaper ads, giant stickers, videos and blogs. All this activity has helped the browser build a user base of over 180 million users in more than 230 countries. The world record is another example of great marketing by this clever community led software company.
