up-in-the-air

I recently watched the deleted scenes from the film “Up in the air”, with the director’s commentary on. It was a whole new experience for me, an important one too.

At LexisClick we don’t make blockbuster films, but as an online marketing company we are involved in creative projects every day.

Creating websites we work a lot with the design and copywriting process. It’s easy to want to cover everything. Cram it all in so that nothing is missed.

But what so often makes things great is what is left out; the white space, the silences, the implied.

From the director’s commentary it was interesting to see the scenes they’d removed, some of them were the most complex and expensive to film.

Editing is one of the great skills of the creative process. Don’t be scared of using it.

Now it’s time to drink our own medicine and start pruning our website copy as it’s rather on the overweight side!
