So you’ve polished off your CV and completed our online application form and now you’re waiting with anticipation to find out if you have been successful.

If you are, then we’ll ask you to pop into our offices to meet a few of the team. So what should you expect?

We like to see how you scrub up, so come in as you would expect to attend an important client meeting. But don’t be surprised if you find us in jeans, as we generally dress quite casually.

We normally have three stages of interview:

Stage 1

The first round is all about getting to know you and your experience. It’ll be with the person who will be your direct manager. We’ll test the capabilities you need to excel in the role that you are being interviewed for. We’ll also be interested in finding out if you have the attributes that make people a success at LexisClick.

Things like:

• what makes you tick, your career aspirations and where you went on holiday
• what you understand about us and the things that are important for us as a business
• when you have shown real initiative and made things happen
• how you solve problems and structure your thinking

Stage 2

At this stage, we’ll want to understand more about the skills that are relevant to your area of the business. So we might learn more about this through a role play of a business scenario or a technical challenge that is relevant to the role you’re applying for.

You’ll also be meeting with two or three of us and we’ll be keen to find out more about your strengths, what gets you out of bed in the morning and where you have made a difference in the past.

Stage 3

By now things are really hotting up. This is your final opportunity to shine and really get to know the people in our business. You’ll get to meet all of the people you’ll be working with and ask them your burning questions. They’ll also have plenty of questions to ask you.

Here are a few useful points to help along the way

Remember that interviews are a two way process and we like it if you have lots of questions

Think about the questions you are most likely to get asked and put some thought into how you might answer them

Relax we aren’t here to trick you and we always want people to shine and do well at interview

Write down our number in case you do get lost and find yourself at the beach
